Hi. I've been a member of the DCA for nearly a year. I have just bought a West 11 (a GRP Mirror Clone). Hopefully my new boat will help me go further afield than my local sailing club in Sutton Coldfield which is the only place I sailed with my old boat a Tarpon 14. The Tarpon is an old home built 14 foot plywood boat designed by Percy Blandford. I found it very difficult to pull it up the sailing club slipway. I joined the forum to advertise it so more details to follow.
Don't forget to pass on the details of the Tarpon to me for inclusion in the Members' Ads section of the next issue of the bulletin, which I am presently working on. My email address is on page 2 of each issue, of course.
(If I remember rightly the double chine hull of the Tarpon is very reminiscent of the 17ft Lysander, and there is the option of making a detachable cuddy, yes? The plans seem no longer to be offered by the American outfit that now deal with Percy Blandford's boats.)
