Thanks Osbert for all your hard work doing this. I'm a novice sailor who built a John Welsford designed navigator.....called Arwen. I also have an oughttred designed wee canoe called Angharad.
I sail around PlymouthSound and various rivers and keep an online blog diary of my incompetency at arwensmeanderings.blogspot.com. I have a YouTube video channel 'plymouthwelshboy' with video clips of my adventures and misfortunes with Arwen.
Hello Steve, I have seen some of your youtube films and enjoyed them and that led me to your blog.
I have been secretly harbouring the desire to build a navigator for a while and reading up on constructors blogs etc.
The navigator in build at present that impresses me most is in Oz and built by a woman called Suzy. She is an engineer and her attention to detail and finish is first rate, It looks like it will be a fine vessel once completed.
Good to see you here. Don't be shy: add a link to your blog in your signature (click your username top right > edit profile) and post a video or two of your Navigator!
(I'd love to see the forum develop into a great resource where anyone interested in a particular design for dinghy cruising can search and find a wealth of informed comment, photos etc - and links to other relevant sites like members' blogs and designer's websites. I'd have found that a great help when I was starting out.)
PS if do post videos etc, start a new thread and include the design name in the subject line to aid future searchers!
