SeaFair Haven 2018 - Milford Haven

Hi - has anyone attended the SeaFair Haven event before?

Any advice would be welcome - especially for us small boats

thanks - Drascombe Coaster "Kathleen"

If you’ve never done anything like it before it’s fine - but the rescue boat coverage is rather oppressive and the day to day variety is not large. Not a patch on the Semaine du Golfe!

The site at Lawrenny has a boatyard, with slip, alongside a pub, with
a pontoon. 5 minutes walk up the hill is the camping field (or you
can sleep on board). The pub is the centre of operations. Some people
lift out every evening, others stay on the pontoon which partially
dries out at low tide.

The organisers are very friendly and approachable.

Activities are organised each day, though no-one will mind if you go
off and do something else instead.

There is safety boat cover for all the organised activities,
something which rather bemused me as I had never experienced such a
phenomenon before.

I have always enjoyed my time there, meeting like minded people and
exploring new waters. I am quite disappointed that I can't make it
this year.

Having returned from 8 days of fine weather, pleasant sailing and good social events. I can say the event was a great success.

Recommend, especially if you’ve never sailed in the area before
